Local entertainment venues King George’s Hall in Blackburn and Darwen Library Theatre have confirmed all their shows will go ahead as planned.

Following the announcement by the Prime Minister last night (8^th December 2021) that the country will be moving to “Plan B” COVID regulations, both venues have confirmed that audiences can continue to enjoy their events including the pantomime “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and “The Snow Play”.

The government regulations mean that customers will have to wear a face covering when inside the venues unless they are exempt or a child under the age of 11.

Face coverings are not required whilst consuming food or drink purchased at the venues.

Both theatres are well below the audience capacity limits that affect some larger venues and COVID passes will not be required for entry at this time.

Neil Dagnall, Venues Operations Manager, said:

“Ever since we were able to reopen our theatres earlier this year, we have been able to welcome audiences back to our shows safely.

“The latest announcement means that our audiences will need to wear face-coverings at our venues, but there are no other restrictions or requirements, so it is very much business as usual.

“The safety of our customers and staff is our top priority and we will continue our additional precautions and cleaning routines that have been in place since we reopened.

“We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our theatres for festive entertainment, music, films and comedy – The Show will go on!”

Although the venues are not anticipating any additional restrictions for any of their planned shows, customers will be contacted by email and updates will be posted on the venues’ social media channels if this does change.
