exciting, ground-breaking music chat show. Bafta nominated actress Julie Hesmondhalgh is
delighted to be appearing on Tom’s show at Darwen Library Theatre. Julie will be chatting to Tom and also choosing her favourite songs which will be performed live by jazz/blues pianist/vocalist Tom and his phenomenal band.
Best known for beloved roles in Coronation Street, Broadchurch and Happy Valley, Julie is a Bafta nominated actress born in Accrington. A woman with a strong social conscience, she originally wanted to be a social worker.
She is known for her role as Hayley Cropper in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street between 1998 and 2014. For this role, she won Best Serial Drama Performance at the 2014 National Television Awards and Best Actress at the 2014 British Soap Awards.
In 2019, Julie set up the group ‘500 Acts of Kindness’, a fundraising community where 500 members donate a pound a week to give to an individual, group, family or organisation in need.
