Round 3 Main Event – Bradford live
Back in 1988, their debut single ‘Skin Storm’ [now deemed an ‘Indie Classic’ by Mojo Magazine] made Morrissey ‘applaud’ the band in City Life and he promptly booked them to open for his first ever solo concert at Wolverhampton Civic Hall in December that year. Similar slots with James, Primal Scream, Bjork [Sugarcubes in Paris], The La’s and Joe Strummer followed. Legendary record producer Stephen Street signed them to his record label and ‘Shouting Quietly’ was released to unanimous great reviews…
Fast forward to 2018 and a double album retrospective ‘Thirty Years of Shouting Quietly’ is released and the original release is reappraised as a ‘Lost English Classic’. The band [now Ewan and Ian] reignited their contact with Stephen when tracking down masters for the release and new recording began…
Stephen liked the strength of this new material so much that Bradford’s erstwhile producer and record company boss became a band member, playing multi instruments and mixing on 2021’s ‘Bright Hours’.
Bitter Harvest
Formed in 1987, Blackburn Lancashire, Bitter Harvest are an Indie/New Wave hard edged, melodic guitar group. Recently re-grouped for the “last” concert; they were immediately ejected out of retirement to support Bradford at Darwen Library Theatre.
